Exponents
The exponent or power key on the TI-30SX calculator looks like an inverted v. If you can use this key quickly and well, you can handle test questions about powers.
You can also use the exponent key, together with the n/d fraction key, to handle roots. Just remember that the nth root of a number is the same as the number raised to the 1/n power.
