QUESTIONS
QUESTIONS
1. Solve 3x + 7 = 13.
2. Solve x² + 30 = 79.
3. If 10x + 1 = 8x + 2, what is x?
4. Solve 3y + 66 = 36y.
ANSWERS
1. First subtract 7 from each side to get 3x = 6. Then divide each side by 3 to get x = 2.
2. First subtract 30 from each side to get x² = 49. Then take the square root of each side to get x = 7.
3. First subtract 8x from each side to get 2x + 1 = 2. Then subtract 1 from each side to get 2x = 1. Then divide each side by 2 to get x = ½.
4. First subtract 3y from each side to get 33y = 66. Then divide each side by 33 to get y = 2.
